what is freak-animals.org?

we are an small and autonomous (do-it-yourself-) network of anarquistas, squatter, punks, music-fanatics and freaks, most of them living in berlin and barcelona. we exist since february 2002 and throw parties and shows, run labels, we publish political leaflats, make artworks and do a lot more activities. our musical approach is to push alternative and experimental music we like: breakcore, digital and analogue punk, experimental stuff, noizecore, industrial, speedcore, dsp/idm and deep ambient. we see this just as a vague description, not as a limit (hiphop and breakcore? no problem! ska and noizecore? yes! grindcore and splatter-breaks? sure!). our aim is a scene overstretching community.
our parties are non-commercial and are organized in alternative, left-wing locations and squats. in most cases we donate the money from the entrance to anarchist projects or solidarity-actions.
politics are quite important for us. though everybody at freak-animals has his/her indepent view, we all don´t believe that someone can be "unpolitical" (this is just a contradiction in terms). only with poltical views is it possible to create a creative underground-culture and not just reproducing role-models from society. this leads to take a stand against hierarchy and dogmatism. underground means an independent and non-commercial culture based on idealism instead of materialism. freaks don´t need expensive dj-celebrities and beer-prices over 3 euros. this strategy is not only for parties but also applicable to everydays life to show people: there is an alternative to capitalism!

each project is responsible on its own for the content of the respective sites! all updates are made autonomously and independetly of the others.
